The ERC consolidator project “3D Structure of Nanomaterials under Realistic Conditions” (REALNANO) tackles important questions related to the 3D characterization of nanomaterials through transmission electron microscopy under realistic conditions. Novel methods in quantitative electron tomography will be developed for the in-situ characterization in liquid or gas environments and at different temperatures.
Application field of the project
The outcome of the project will be of great importance to an increasing number of nanotechnological developments, as for example drug delivery, sensing, datastorage, catalysis, hypertermic cancer treatment, etc.
